SIMA increases its commitment to holiday homes and strengthens its position as one of the most important promotional platforms of the sector in international circles.
The real estate show with the largest exhibition surface area in the world is underway. The Mayor of Madrid , Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón and the general housing secretary, Javier Ramos opened the doors of the Madrid Real Estate Show (SIMA) yesterday, and they will remain open until Saturday 8th April. A meeting point which will be a platform for the sector to identify new opportunities for investment in the housing market. Among the more attractive new items at the show, which is in its eighth edition, is the presence for the first time, of Sando. A construction company with its origins in Malaga and which over the last few years has made a strong commitment to the real estate world. The qualitative results and the volume of business obtained last year back up a company that is now staring to move into new markets and even exchange ideas and projects with other companies in the sector at SIMA. Sando, a company with over 40 years experience and which has won a position of respect in the sector, has at this time, a portfolio of over 2,5 million square metres distributed around the country. The Costa del Sol and Malaga capital are one of the reference points for a group that currently has over a million square metres of land in the area, that it is managing. The company´s 102 million euros worth of sales last year represent a growth of 110 percent in its business volume. A figure that places it in the tenth position in the ranking of national construction companies. The Madrid Real Estate Show, reinforces, once again, its commitment to second homes – represented in the Inmotur section of the show – by increasing by 63% its exhibition surface area compared to last year. A circumstance brought about by the proliference of real estate promoters specialized in tourist residences in Spain. Precisely, the Costa del Sol is, together with the Costa Blanca and the Costa del Azahar, one of the zones that, currently registers the highest percentage of specialization in second homes in the real estate sector. The director of SIMA, Eloy Bohúa, wanted to highlight, in the opening ceremony, the importance that would be acquired by international companies in this edition. “Their presence is more and more prominent, and on this occasion, 12 percent of the exhibitors at our show are from abroad. We are strongly committed to the internationalisation of the event and this is now specially noticeable,” said Bohúa. Not in vain, the transnationalization of the show, the grand participation of companies – over 700 – and the large volume of exhibitions at the show, make it possible for SIMA to become one of the most relevant real estate trade fairs held in the world.
