The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has awarded Conacon Sando the execution of the first 100% sustainable street in the Canary Islands. A particularly environmentally responsible project with an investment of almost one and a half million euros and which fully connects with the company’s line of specialisation in energy solutions.
This project will be located on Avenida La Constitución, and will include a set of renewable energy installations, an installation of recharging points and a consumption monitoring system for public lighting and traffic signs.
Among the works to be carried out is the execution of a photovoltaic solar energy installation for self-consumption with a peak power of 477.60 kWp and a nominal power of 500kWn. These photovoltaic panels will be located on nine parking canopy modules, providing shade for some 180 parking spaces on the esplanade of the Maritime Park.
The energy generated in this installation will consume a total of five public lighting panels and five traffic light control panels, corresponding to the section between the Maritime Park and the old Jet Foil station.
Six outdoor charging stations for electric vehicles will also be installed, making a total of twelve 476kW charging points: four 44 kW stations, with two 22kW charging points each, and two 150 kW fast charging stations.
Specialised sustainable energy solutions
With the implementation of this project, Conacon Sando will provide the Canary Islands with a street whose consumption will be generated exclusively by renewable energy sources, thus contributing to the reduction of the carbon footprint.
This project is part of Conacon Sando’s specialised energy line, from which other important projects have been developed in the Canary Islands, such as the electric vehicle charging network on the island of La Gomera and the installation of photovoltaic panels in various installations of the Tenerife Water Board.
