The company has accredited its management system through Aenor
Althenia, the environmental services company of the Sando group of companies, has certified its Occupational Health and Safety management system via Aenor, in accordance with the ISO 45001:2018 standard.
Althenia, whose Occupational Health and Safety Management System was certified in accordance with the international specification OHSAS 18001:2007, goes one step further and passes the most demanding international accreditation.
ISO 45001:2018 certifies that organisations that pass it provide safe and healthy workplaces, where occupational injuries and health damage are prevented through continuous improvement.
The ISO 45001:2018 certification covers all the services provided by the company Althenia, such as conservation and maintenance of forests, gardens and urban Roads, forestry work or street, building or Beach cleaning and collection and transport of urban Waste, among others.
In 2019, Sando became one of the first construction companies in the country to certify its Health and Safety Management System in accordance with ISO 45001:2018, and the first to do so in Andalusia via Aenor. In 2009, Sando was one of the first major companies in the sector to be certified according to the previous standard, OHSAS 18001, by the British standards body BSI, which had the worldwide ownership of the standard.
Occupational risk prevention has been one of the hallmarks of the Sando group of companies and its Sando Fundación since its incorporation. In fact, in 2019 the Sando Fundación held the 6th National Construction Health and Safety Conference.
