ALTHENIA PARTICIPATES IN A NEW CHILDREN’S AWARENESS CAMPAIGN ON THE ENVIRONMENT

Althenia participates in a new children’s awareness campaign. Together with the Velez-Malaga Town Council’s Environmental Delegation, the company Sando, specialising in environmental actions, offered a didactic session on awareness and education in values. All in the 21st Infant School Cultural Week at San José School. 

The meeting, aimed at children between 3 and 5 years old, focused on several aspects, such as the importance of Waste separation and Street cleaning. In addition, the children enjoyed seeing how Althenia’s cleaning equipment works and learning how to take care of the planet. 

During the second part of the session, the company’s professionals focused on gardening. Through songs and poems, the children learned about planting a seed and were able to work manually with recycled materials. Althenia has provided the equipment necessary to carry out the activities safely and some mementoes so that the children do not forget the experience.  

Raising public awareness 

Althenia manages the park and garden service in Vélez-Málaga, and the cleaning and collection of urban waste service in the municipality. Together with the City Council, it organises different campaigns to raise awareness among children and the public every year. It recently designed a pioneering campaign for collecting organic waste targeted at businesses and individuals. It has also prepared an audiovisual campaign for excrement collection under the slogan ‘A big prize for a small gesture’. Initiatives committed to the environment and animal welfare as part of its corporate social responsibility strategy and compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals.
