The Mayor of Vélez-Málaga, Jesús Lupiáñez, has awarded Althenia Sando with the Order of Merit of the Local Police Corps in the denomination of Public Commendation. This recognition highlights the company’s continued collaboration with the municipality, especially during the episodes of abnormal rainfall during the DANA (Spanish acronym for high-altitude isolated depression or cold drop) last October.
The area delegate of Althenia Sando, Francisco Javier Álvarez, accepted and thanked the award on behalf of the entire team of professionals of the company in Vélez-Málaga. Althenia Sando currently provides sustainable municipal services for the conservation and maintenance of parks and gardens, and the cleaning and collection of solid urban Waste.
This commendation is issued “in view of the merits and circumstances that demonstrate the relevant qualities” of Althenia Sando in defence of the interests of Vélez-Málaga, as stated in the Local Police Corps regulations of June 2012.
First Order of Merit
This is the first time that the Local Police Force of Vélez-Málaga has organised this recognition ceremony in the municipality. During the celebration, other congratulations were awarded, including the Cross for Constancy of Service and the Medal for Police Merit, awarded to the Minister of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue and Administrative Simplification, Antonio Sanz, who was present at the event.
Patricia Navarro, delegate of the Government of the Junta in Malaga; David Gil, Secretary General of the Interior; and Rafael Mora, head of the Local Police of Velez-Malaga, among others, attended the event.
The Public Commendation of the Order of Merit of the Local Police Corps of Vélez-Málaga is among other recognitions that Althenia Sando has received for her work in public service within the municipality over the past nineteen years.
