The Town Council of El Casar, in Guadalajara, has awarded Althenia Sando the environmental Waste collection services in its municipality for a budget of more than 600,000 euros.
The work consists of collecting, transporting and treating waste to authorised plants, structured in two different actions according to the type of waste: plant pruning waste (biodegradable), domestic waste generated in households, and household waste known as bulky household goods.
In the case of vegetable pruning waste, the service will consist of the collection of the vegetable fraction of bio-waste produced in private gardens of homes within the municipality of El Casar. Vegetable fraction from private gardens is understood as waste, such as: pruning waste from trees (conifers: pines, firs, cedars, cypresses, etc.); pruning waste from shrubs, palm trees; weeding, clearing (leaves, flowers, branches); mowing of meadows (lawns), hedge and shrub clippings.
The work ranges from door-to-door collection through sacks (provided to each household) to subsequent transfer to an authorised waste manager. The service covers the urban area of El Casar and the Urbanisations of Los Arenales, Núcleo de Mesones, Nuevo Mesones, Valdelosllanos, Las Colinas, Montecalderón, El Coto and Lago de Jaral.
Bulky waste collection
The bulky waste collection service (LER 200307) covers items such as: furniture (bed bases, sofas, wardrobes, etc.); household goods (mattresses, bicycles, bathtubs, boilers or windows); electrical and electronic equipment (large WEEE such as microwaves, refrigerators or washing machines); and other electronic equipment (computers, printers or televisions).
The service will collect bulky waste from households in the entire municipality of El Casar, covering the towns mentioned above. The collection system will consist of elaborating a collection route, which will cover all those dwellings where it has been requested. A specialised team will collect waste from these dwellings and transfer it to the corresponding authorised waste management plant for unloading.
With the execution of this contract, Althenia Sando continues to legitimise its experience in environmental solutions, contributing to improving the Sustainability of urban centres. This way, El Casar joins other municipalities where the company provides waste collection services, such as Arcos de la Frontera and Vélez-Málaga.
