Conacon Sando, together with Sando Agua, will be responsible for the execution of the works to improve the state of the canals in the irrigation areas of Granada. The objective is to implement a series of measures to promote savings and efficiency in the use of water for irrigation in the canals of the Confederación Hidrográfica del Guadalquivir in the province of Granada. Among the actions carried out in these canals are the installation of new waterproofing elements, the treatment of existing joints, the repair of cracks detected and the restructuring of sections that have lost their original section. These works will help to reduce water leaks from the canals, thereby reducing water wastage. The canals where the company will carry out the work are: the El Cacín canal, the Los Franceses canal, the Albolote canal, the Colomera canal, the Cubillas canal, the Zona Regable Guadalentín canal, the Jabalcón canal and the San Clemente canal. With the execution of these actions, Conacon Sando and Sando Agua contribute to the maintenance of hydraulic works of general interest, both at ordinary and extraordinary levels, promoting user accessibility and optimising distribution processes to maximise the amount of water distributed.
Given the pressing water stress in which the Andalusian community has been immersed in recent years, solutions aimed at optimising hydraulic systems are essential to maximise the availability of available water. Aware of the great challenge of managing this increasingly scarce water resource, Sando Agua is committed to the latest innovative techniques based on the Smartwater Cycle approach to the management of hydraulic infrastructures. This innovative approach allows the integration of advanced information and communication technologies (ICT) to collect data in real time and use them to optimise water management. In this way, through the execution of solutions such as the maintenance of the canals in the irrigable areas of Granada, Sando deploys all its experience and expertise in the maintenance and execution of hydraulic infrastructures and contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.
