The City Council of Jaén has awarded Conacon Sando the maintenance and conservation services of the road network of its municipality. A one-year, extendable contract whose main objective is to maintain the levels of quality, service and road safety in the city.
Among the actions to be carried out are pavement and road surface conservation works, infrastructures, signposting, safety measures and street furniture. The intervention covers the city of Jaén, a surface area of approximately 424.30 km2, divided into nine districts and thirty-eight neighbourhoods, home to around 111,888 inhabitants.
Situated at the foot of the Santa Catalina mountain, Jaén has a particular orography that has a direct impact on its urban planning: steep streets and steep slopes that narrow towards the flat and wide areas of the new neighbourhoods and boulevards. The deployment of maintenance and conservation actions in this territory requires high technical expertise from the professionals who will carry out the work.
Among the works carried out by Conacon Sando, some of the most important are the paving works, such as the replacement of the split tiles in Calle Álamos, the paving of the cobblestones in the Church of San Antonio, and the conservation of the emblematic Arch of San Lorenzo. Environmental solutions, such as clearing vegetation and cleaning public spaces, will also be deployed.
Innovative conservation solutions in urban environments
As part of the company’s specialised area of conservation and smart cities, this intervention implemented a geo-referenced information management system developed by Conacon Sando, which has been made available to the City Council. It is a tool that allows the collection and analysis of data on different elements of urban infrastructure, facilitating the identification of areas for intervention and efficient resource allocation.
This technological system will allow the Jaén City Council to access for the first time all the information on the management of the contract, monitor in real time the progress in the resolution of incidents, and generate reports to evaluate the effectiveness of the actions taken.
This technological system, together with the accumulated experience of Conacon Sando in the implementation of solutions for Roads such as Seville, Malaga, Marbella, Santa Cruz de Tenerife or San Agustin de Guadalix in Madrid, allows us to offer solutions of real value for the Jaen City Council. Through actions developed in the different districts, Conacon Sando will contribute to the revitalisation of the urban core of the city, allowing its humanisation and reconfiguration of the urban ecosystem under Sustainability criteria.
