SANDO COMPLETES THE WORKS FOR THE EXPANSION OF MARBELLA’S PROMENADE IN LA BAJADADILLA
01/06/2022
Sando has completed the expansion works of the Promenade, which will give continuity to the promenade through Calle Fuengirola, in the La Bajadilla area. This intervention, carried out by its specialised infrastructure conservation company -Conacon- modernises and highlights the importance of such a unique and important environment for Marbella, along with making it possible to include this road in the Promenade.
This expansion, developed in a temporary joint venture as part of the Urban Development Plan, has been built on 2,500 square metres. In this case the remodelling has been carried out, maintaining the current layout and aesthetics, consisting of travertine marble slabs, red Alicante marble and a white marble border.
In addition the works have also included the underground burying of the main services. For example sewerage, electricity and telecommunications, and installing new urban furniture and some thirty jardinieres.
The mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, explained her point of view. “The road was very busy for vehicles and with very deteriorated pavements, and we have added it to one of our main tourist attractions, such as the path that runs along almost all of our coastline”.
Infrastructure maintenance
Sando’s Infrastructure Conservation and Maintenance division manages road maintenance services in Malaga and Seville, and the almost 200 kilometres of bicycle lanes that make up the road network in Seville and the island road network in La Gomera, among others.
