The Award recognises the work and achievements of the Foundation in the area of Workplace Risk Prevention
The General Director of the Sando Fundación, Esther Sánchez Manzano, received the Prever Award 2008 on Saturday, given by the General Board of Industrial Relations and Work Sciences at the beginning of the year. The General Director of Workplace Health and Safety of the Junta of Andalucia, Esther Azorit Jiménez, personally presented the award to the Foundation.
The Prever Awards 2008 ceremony was held this week in Sevilla at the X Technical Conference for Workplace Risk Prevention, organised by the General Office of Workplace Health and Safety of the Junta of Andalucia, the INSHT, National Institute for Workplace Safety and Hygiene and the Foundation for Workplace Risk Prevention.
The Awards were created in 1998 on the initiative of the General Board of Industrial Relations and Work Sciences, and have become a national reference for national workplace safety and supported by the European Union. The Prever Awards Committee chose to recognise the work and achievements of the Sando Fundación in the area of Workplace Health and Safety.
The award represents an added impulse for Sando’s safety policies, the only entity in the construction sector awarded this year. In 2001, Sando received the SAFE Award, from the European Commission in recognition of its work in the area of workplace health and safety.
The Sando Fundación will continue to develop activities to encourage a culture of Workplace Safety and Risk Prevention. In February, Sando hosted the National Construction Health and Safety Conference where it presented the results of a study on Workplace Risk Prevention conducted by experts in the field during 2008.
