Malaga and Seville universities have signed an agreement with Sando Fundación which will enable students to travel and carry out their studies abroad

The agreement is part of the Andalusia Technology Park convention framework and includes six grants for training and practical work during a six month period
Malaga and Seville universities have today signed up to a collaboration convention framework with Sando Fundación. The objective is to provide six grants annually, (three for each academic institution), which will enable students to travel and carry out their studies abroad.

The agreement, which is part of the Andalusia Technology Park Campus of International Excellence, was signed at the UMA Rectory by the rector, Adelaida de la Calle; the rector of Seville University, Antonio Ramírez de Arellano, and Esther Sánchez Manzano, the managing director of Sando Fundación.

The aim of the convention is to help university students to travel abroad in order to undertake practical studies and training with a company. For this purpose, Sando Fundación will pay 7,500 euros annually to each university, for each grant this equates to 2,500 euros.

During their practical studies, which will last for six months, the student will be appointed a tutor from the collaborating entity and an academic tutor from the university. In order to obtain a grant, the students will be selected by the board’s on-going assessment panel as set out in the convention, comprising the two rectors, (or those delegated by them), and a representative from Sando.

The countries where the students will be sent to are not yet known, as this is something which will be specified at future conventions. Adhering to the Andalusia Technology Park concept, the aim of this project is to create a centre of excellence for teaching, research and transferring results, as well as helping to encourage innovation within companies.

In accordance with this objective, one of the aims which has been implemented is the internationalisation of teaching, something which was applied to this convention, and which will come into effect from the date of signing the agreement, the duration of which will be for one year, and can be renewed automatically on a yearly basis.
