The La Gomera Island Council has approved the contract awarded for the maintenance and upkeep of the island’s Roads to Sando, through its specialised company Conacon, in a joint venture for the next three years. The contract is for road maintenance on the full island
As communicated by the Town Council, the service will have an annual investment of more than 3.5 million euros. The companies will have a workforce of 48 people, distributed in eight work teams, who will ensure safety and cleanliness 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
In this sense, Sando will complete the necessary work daily to ensure La Gomera’s roads’ efficient maintenance and operation. The objective is to ensure adequate conditions of viability and safety for users.
The contract of road maintenance also covers maintenance of elements such as shelters, gazebos, gardening and lighting installations. Sando’s operational team will also be prepared to deal with emergencies.
Sando has a specific division for comprehensive upkeep and maintenance of infrastructures. Its activity is oriented towards maintenance services for urban roads, highways, railways, buildings, hydraulic and forestry infrastructures.
