Sando Construcción finishes LIDL’s largest logistics centre in Andalusia, with more than 65,000 m2 of floor space

Sando Construcción has finished the construction of the largest logistics centre of the supermarket chain LIDL España in Andalusia and the second largest in the country. The new logistics platform has involved an investment of 88 million euros.
The new logistics centre built by Sando is located on a 132,000 m2 plot of land in the Industrial, Technological and Innovation Area (CITAI) – the former Metropolitan Industrial and Technological Park of Granada – in Escúzar, which Sando also developed. A modern and efficient infrastructure with more than 65,000 m2 of floor space.
The logistics platform construction project combines a prefabricated concrete structure with metal pillars. The roof is a flat deck with concrete enclosures and sandwich panels. It has 20,500 m3 of cold stores, 6,000 m2 of special floor space for freezing, 139 loading and unloading bays, and a 4,600 m2 office area.
Sustainable logistics centre
Regarding Sustainability, Sando Construcción has installed around 6,700 m2 of photovoltaic panels in this new logistics centre, capable of providing up to 30% of all the energy required by this logistics platform in a year. It is also BREEAM certified, promoting more Sustainable construction and improving buildings’ functionality, flexibility and durability.
This project is part of Sando’s line of specialisation in the construction of industrial buildings. The company has applied its experience, quality and innovation in this type of infrastructure, as well as the sustainability criteria that define it in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
