Sando Construcción has organised, together with the University of Granada, two informative seminars for students of the Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería de Caminos, Canales y Puertos.
Over two days, the engineering students were scheduled to visit two emblematic Sando Construcción projects in Madrid: the extension of the Puerta Atocha station and the construction of a new station at Puerta de Atocha and the refurbishment of the building located at number 14 of the Paseo de la Castellana.
During the visits, the Sando Construcción site teams explained the technical aspects of each project to the attendees, describing its particularities and challenges. At the same time, they toured the worksites to learn first-hand about the details of their execution.
This action is part of the Sando Young Talent project, in line with Sando’s commitment to welcome, train and retain recent graduates with technical profiles. Since its inception in the last decade, several dozen recent graduates have been accepted and have continued their professional careers with Sando. The aim is to bring young talent in the sector closer to the world of construction.
Aware of the challenges facing the construction sector, Sando collaborates with various universities and educational centres throughout the country to contribute to the education and training of the best professionals that the industry will demand in the future.
In addition to the collaboration with the University of Granada, there are other initiatives, such as participation in the job fairs of different universities. As well as those promoted by the Sando Fundación, such as the donation of construction materials to the José María Torrijos secondary school and the collaboration in the Industrial Theses programme of the Postgraduate School of the University of Malaga for the tutoring of postgraduate students, among others.
