Sando Construcción will carry out the project to extend the Arrupe Centre for the Society of Jesus, working in the pastoral space of the Portaceli Church and the Arrupe Centre in Seville.
The work consists of creating two new buildings, which will be linked by a footbridge, maintaining a free space between them to house a landscaped square within the plot, Plaza Arrupe. The total built-up area consists of 1,259.95 square metres, with work on the buildings to modify their layouts, finishes and qualities.
In the execution of this project, Sando Construcción puts its experience in the construction of sustainable infrastructures at the service of the Society of Jesus to provide the Jesuit project in Seville with new functional and efficient spaces adapted to their needs, allowing them to take advantage of their full potential.
According to the project, brick will be used for the construction due to its honesty and versatility, both for the existing brick in the façade pilasters and the current Arrupe Centre and in the new proposal, and concrete for its structural and technological features.
Gardens and vegetation will be fundamental in designing the new Arrupe Centre and its surroundings. The articulation and spatiality of the building will result from Sustainability criteria and the position of the existing or new trees to be incorporated.
