The Carlos III Health Institute has awarded Sando the construction of its new laboratories in Madrid. The work consists of the extension of the laboratory for the ISCIII Biobank and the research centre for advanced therapies. It is located on the same campus in Majadahonda. This work, which integrates perfectly with existing facilities, gives continuity to the National Microbiology Centre and Building 53, research and laboratory buildings currently in constant operation. This building will be used to research medicines and advanced therapies, and it is a pioneer in this field.
Sando has a specific line of business for the construction and equipping of healthcare infrastructures and the management of ancillary hospital services. In this case, it has adapted the execution needs and characteristics of the building to achieve excellence in the development of the works in the planned Clean Rooms and Laboratories.
The building’s configuration is completed with the development spaces, creating the site’s layout according to the needs of access from the perimeter road, maintaining compatibility with the accesses to nearby buildings.
Quality is one of the most sensitive aspects for Sando, especially in this type of project, which involves both public and private hospitals and healthcare centres. In these executions, Sando must also ensure the safety of patients and healthcare professionals.
Sando recently completed the refurbishment works of the Puerta del Mar Hospital in Cadiz. In Seville, it has completed the complete renovation of the Intensive Care Units and the new Surgical Block at the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital, among others.
