The firm will take part in a three-year project to promote sustainable mobility in Malaga
From this month onwards, the firm Sando and its group of companies has been provided with five Mitsubishi iMiEV cars as part of the ZEM2ALL project (Zero Emissions Mobility To All) for the next three years.
Sando employees will be able to use the cars for going about their business activities in Malaga province. It has been organized in such a way that three vehicles in rotation will always be available for use by whoever needs a car.
Driving data collected from these cars will allow those working on the ZEM2ALL international project to study the behaviour of electric cars in a large city like Malaga, and to investigate alternatives for getting around which do not cause pollution.
The Mitsubishi iMiEV electric cars are fully sustainable vehicles, equipped with an electric-magnet engine and an alternator, instead of a combustion engine. They are fitted with large, high-density Lithium-Ion batteries which only require maintenance every 10 years.
According to Mitsubishi, the range of these urban cars is between 100 and 150 kilometres, and they can reach a maximum speed of 130 km/h. Compared to petrol vehicles, each car emits one ton of C02 less and consumes approximately two euros per 100 kilometres.
At the end of March, Endesa installed three “Wall Box” recharging points at Sando’s offices in Malaga which will allow batteries to be fully-charged in six or seven hours. It is possible, however, to recharge 80% of the battery’s power in only 30 minutes at one of the quick recharging stations which are distributed throughout Malaga province.
This initiative is in line with the company’s policies on social responsibility and, along with other internal company initiatives and actions helps contribute towards reducing carbon dioxide in the air.
Sando is a leading international construction company, noted for their technical know-how, solid reputation, Sustainability and reliability.
