The company will restore two sections between Chorzów Batory and Tczew for 10.6 million euros
The construction company Sando has been awarded the tender for a new civil engineering project which belongs to the public Railway company PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe. The project is called “Revitalization of the railway line number 131 Chorzów Batory – Tczew”.
The company presented their tender through a consortium made up of Sando Construcciones and Sando Budowncitwo Polska. The net contract is worth almost 44 million zlotys, approximately 10.6 million euros.
The bid comprised a number of lines of action which will be prepared in detail by the consortium prior to the start of building work. To start with, 21.7 kilometres of railway line will be renovated, a 9.5 kilometre filter layer will be added and the reconstruction of 18 sidings will be undertaken.
Furthermore, level crossings will be repaired, the drainage network renewed and there will be additional automatic engineering work, telecommunications and electrical installations.
The Sando consortium will carry out work to two specific sections of the railway line number 131: Babiak-Zaryń and Piotrków Kujawski–Chełmce. The work will also extend to Babiak and Zaryń railway stations.
On a different matter, Sando has finished building the S-7 motorway between Olsztynek and Nidzica, which opened for service last Thursday. This infrastructure is 31.2 kilometres in length and comprises a two-lane motorway. The budget for the road works was almost 300 million euros. The new motorway helps improve the S7 and S51 highways, two of Poland’s main communication routes.
