AENOR has officially approved the implementation of a Health and Safety at Work Management System in accordance with OSHAS 18001:2007 international specifications on behalf of Sando Construcciones
The firm Sando Construcciones has had their Health and Safety at Work Management System approved by IQNET which guarantees international recognition. This new official approval guarantees the company’s risk prevention at work policies in any market throughout the world.
Obtaining this new guarantee occurred at the same time as OHSAS 18001:2007 Certificate was renewed for the Health and Safety at Work Management System, and with an improved audit of the legalities regarding risk prevention in accordance with the regulations set out in the Prevention Services Regulations (Royal Decree 39/1997 of 17th January).
The two certifications (IQNET, OHSAS 18001:2007) and the legal audit were officially approved by AENOR, one of only 29 bodies in the world which are authorized to grant the IQNET internationally recognized quality guarantee. This will ensure international confidence in all health and safety aspects of building work and projects undertaken by the company.
hroughout their history, risk prevention at work has been paramount in the business strategies implemented by Sando and for which they have received a number of national and international awards.
In fact, in 2009 Sando was the first of the large construction companies in Spain to have their health and safety at work system officially approved in line with the BS OHSAS 18001:2007 British Standards Institution (BSI), the body which established worldwide ownership of the intellectual rights to these specifications.
The company’s commendable work has been recognized in the form of a number of awards over time. In 2001 the European Union awarded Sando the SAFE prize for their efforts in implementing national and European Union regulations regarding company safety and hygiene. Following on from there, Sando received the 2008 Prever Prize awarded by the General Advisory Body for Industrial Relations and Science at Work. Moreover, in 2011 Sando were awarded the prize for Andalusian Executives in the Best Company category relating to Risk Prevention at Work.
Having gained the IQNET official guarantee, the Joint Prevention Services which forms part of the Sando Group of Companies, is legally qualified to directly manage health and safety policies in countries where Sando operates outside of Europe, currently in Columbia and Morocco.
