The company will work with other entities to promote new research
Sando will attend in the third edition of the European Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation (Transfiere), to be held tomorrow at the Trade Fair and Congress Centre of Malaga.
The company is participating in “Transfiere” as part of its continuing focus on research and development and working with other entities in the area of R&D+i. As part of its strategic policy, Sando has enhanced its research efforts and expanded its R&D+i department into four areas: Sustainable construction, Geomatics and topography, Architectural design and the Environment.
Sando is currently developing four research projects: IESEI, research into Earthquake Resistant Construction, Energy Efficiency and Intelligent buildings; Las Roads, the development of a system to extract useful information from data captured by air and ground-based laser sensors applied to civil engineering projects; a project for the use of recycled materials in motorway construction in the province of Malaga, and finally, through company of the Sando Group, research into charging electrical vehicles in motion.
One of the key objectives of R&D+i at Sando is to find practical applications for the results of research. Recently, and based on the studies carried out within the “Las Roads” project, the company has begun to incorporate drones or UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) to capture information for infrastructure projects.
Sando has established an R&D+i Management System according to the UNE 166002 Standard and certified by Aenor. The system is designed to promote the generation and evaluation of new ideas and designing mechanisms to incorporate innovation in the daily management of the company.
The company is a founding sponsor of the Andalucia Technology Corporation, the HABITEC Foundation (Technology Centre for Research, Technology, Energy and Construction) and is a member of the Adif Centre for Railway Technology in the Andalucia Technology Park.
