In line with our Sustainability strategy, we have committed to society to promote specialised training, understanding that our great challenges require highly qualified professionals.
With this in mind, Sando participated in the Technical Conference at IES Heliópolis. This school offers various subjects, including advanced training in civil engineering projects and renewable energies, as well as specialised courses such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) and installing and maintaining internet-connected systems (IoT).
In Sando’s presentation, Vanesa Cosano, Projects Technician, and Antonio Macías, Site Manager, described the group’s different specialities, the main works carried out, and the technical characteristics of their execution. Specifically, they explained the particularities of carrying out work in urban environments, where the impact on the nearby population must be considered.
In this sense, they emphasised the application of new technologies to public road maintenance work, giving the service provided in Seville as an example. Finally, the power line operation and its growth possibilities were presented.
Commitment to social value creation
The company’s social commitment to quality training is expressed through the various initiatives implemented in alliance with different educational organisations. In a sector with an estimated shortage of 800,000 qualified professionals nationwide, supporting professional qualification in construction is a shared responsibility to which Sando seeks to contribute.
In this sense, one of the speakers from Sando, Vanesa Cosano, trained at IES Heliópolis and is now a professional staff member after a period of work experience in the company. Among the actions implemented to support educational projects with a social impact, the company supports its contribution by providing technical material, support for scholarships or doctoral theses, or training sessions, such as the one held at IES Heliópolis.
