This smart road maintenance system for a smartcity is applied in the city of Malaga
The Sando business group presented this week the Génesis program, a smart computer system for road maintenance in the Pavement Preservation and Recycling Summit de Nice (PPRS), one of the most important congresses in the world on road preservation.
The steering committee of the congress has valued the innovation the Génesis program presents in the road maintenance sector. A smart system that the Sando business group has implemented with its company specialised in infrastructures, Conacon, along with the company Rus Eiffage, for the Malaga City Council.
The main objective of the Nice Pavement Preservation and Recycling Summit (PPRS) is the maintenance, modernisation and adaptation of the road network to the mobility of the future. It brings together the leading experts in the sector and is the largest global showcase for exhibiting the latest technologies.
During the presentation of the Genesis program, Francisco Martín, an engineer at Conacon and head of the Malaga Road Maintenance Plan, explained along with Juan Carlos Vertedor, an engineer at Rus Eiffage, how they care developed a smart road maintenance system for a smartcity and how they are applying it in the city of Malaga.
The Génesis smart system has the capacity to learn depending on the data that is entered in it, to manage the information in real time and to organise the work teams and maintenance work for a city like Malaga with almost six hundred thousand inhabitants.
The maintenance model planned with the Génesis system, along with the work methodology applied, contribute to the city of Malaga being one of the most innovative cities in the country and the first in Andalusia, as stated in the report by Fundación Ciedes and Analistas Económicos, published in March.
The concept of road maintenance posed by Génesis allows for both companies providing the maintenance service, and public-sector managers to be able to know at a moment’s notice the status of the maintenance work. Génesis is a smart program that is renewed daily and that has the IT support of Sando´s Systems department.
