The Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, through the Directorate General for the Coast and the Sea and its Provincial Coastal Service, has awarded Sando the project to repair the damage caused by the storm on the Almeria coastline.
This emergency action follows the damage caused by the sea, wind and rain storms in March and April in the province of Almeria.
The works carried out by Sando consist of replacing the sand on several beaches along the Almeria coastline. In total, it is estimated that some 40,000 square metres of sand will be brought in, including quarrying and transfers, which will subsequently be extended so that the beaches are ready for summer.
This regeneration is in addition to other interventions carried out by the Construction area in maritime environments, such as those on the beaches of Almadraba and Les Deveses, in Denia or Malaga.
Sando is involved in projects that preserve the environment, underwater life and terrestrial ecosystems following the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Sando’s commitment to society to protect and contribute to sustainable development is also reflected in its projects for the conservation and maintenance of our coasts. Althenia currently carries out the Beach cleaning maintenance services in Fuengirola.
