The project will involve the development of a business centre, a square and an underground car park.
Malaga, 17th of July, 2006.- Sando Construcciones will carry out the construction of the Ciudad Expo Transport Interchange Station in Mairena del Aljarafe. A large-scale project that will change the appearance of the town with a business centre, an underground car park with almost one thousand, five hundred spaces and a large, 16,000 square metre public square.
Aljarafe Central, as it has been definitively named, brings the spaces together in a way that allows natural light to enter, and it incorporates the new Interchange station without clashing with the surroundings. It creates an original space for recreation and business, and it offers both a transport service with a single station for the underground and the buses, and also a taxi rank and a car park on three levels.
Over the modern Interchange station will be located a broad public square that will become the town’s green lung. A space of 16,000 square metres that Grupo Sando has handed over to Mairena Council free of charge. This new setting, meant to be the new nerve centre of the town, will incorporate a commercial leisure centre on two floors with shops and cafes.
The business centre with two monumental fifteen-storey glass towers will be raised next to the square and over the Interchange station. Both will be linked to a common area at the first two levels that will also include a Conference Centre. One of the two buildings will be for offices, while the second will house a hotel, with the top floor to incorporate a swimming pool and a cafe from where a panoramic view of Aljarafe can be enjoyed.
Carrying out the whole project has involved different studies that have analysed the totality of the town in order to implement good traffic management and to give a homogeneous appearance to all the facilities.
Grupo Sando, consolidated as one of the country’s top construction companies, will single-handedly carry out this development, essential to Seville’s growth. It will also contribute to the future of Mairena del Aljarafe.
In the last four years the company has doubled its turnover, finishing 2005 with a growth of 40% in turnover compared with 2004, and reaching a total of €520 million.
