The Sando Group will donate 0.7% of all the sales made this year during the course of the Madrid Real Estate Exhibition (SIMA) to UNHCR (United Nations High Commission for Refugees), which reaffirms the real commitment of the building and real estate Group of companies with solidarity and social responsible activities.
During the course of SIMA Sando will also offer a discount of up to 15,000 Euros on all purchases made during the real estate exhibition. On this occasion Sando will have a stand with more than 800 m2.
Sando recently purchased 100% of the shares of the real estate company Agofer for 220 million Euros. At the same time, Sando has become consolidated as one of the top ten most important companies in the business in Spain ranked by turnover. Additionally, Sando has become a company of reference in the real estate business in the country.
Sando reached a total turnover of 759.5 million Euros, which was an increase of 46% over and above the 519.6 millions of the previous year. The total pre tax profit was 162.5 million Euros in 2006, 246% more than in the previous year. The development of the Real Estate Division has been one of the keys to this financial year, with a turnover of 158.8 million Euros, 60.4% more than in 2005, and a land portfolio of more than 8 million square metres available for building allowing the development of more than 25,000 homes.
Sando is present in Andalusia, Catalonia, the East Coast and Madrid. Sando also has a sales office in Poland. During the course of 2006, the Sando Real Estate Division has invested more than 150 million Euros in purchasing land. The main activity of the Sando real estate division is centred on building developments (housing, tertiary and industrial developments), land management and asset exploitation.
At this year’s SIMA, Sando is presenting a wide range of building developments of outstanding relevance, such as Pleamar and Cala Blanca on the Malaga coast, the Ayala, Casal and Quarzo buildings in Madrid, the La Cañada residential complex in Las Rozas (Madrid) and the Sansara and Vermera building developments in Warsaw.
On the other hand the consolidation of Sando in Poland, already having 419,000 square metres of land for building 4,800 homes in various areas of Warsaw and 850 in Wroclaw, is a fact that clearly demonstrates the international vocation of the company.
