Sando, a major construction company, will be responsible for carrying out construction of the new Infant and Junior Education Centre (CEIP) Valeriano López, which will be located in the top part of the municipality of Estepona, Malaga. The developer of this project is ISE Andalucía, an Andalusian Company dedicated to Public Infrastructure and Services, with a budget of 3,694,618.74 euros inclusive of IVA.
At mid-day today both companies signed the building contract. Representing ISE was their General Manager, Aurelia Calzada and representing the construction company, Ignacio Martín, Senior Manager for Southern Spain Regional Management division of Sando Construccións.
The scheduled time period for carrying out the building project is fourteen and a half months. This will involve the construction of a three-storey building by Sando including semi-basement, ground and first floor and the work will be divided into four sections or work zones totalling 3,237.28 square metres.
Zone 1 which will house the semi-basement and ground floor; zone 11 which will involve work in the semi-basement, ground and first floor; zone 111 comprising two floors (ground and first floor); and zone lV which will be the gymnasium spread over one floor. The objective behind dividing the work into sections is to prioritise construction of the teaching zones.
The terrain where the Centre will be located is characterized by steep slopes. Therefore, before building work can commence, a safety plan will be drawn up to ensure building work stability one hundred fold and prevent landslides or platform movement during construction work.
