Althenia will provide the support and equipment for the maintenance of green areas in the municipality
Through its environmental services company, Althenia, Sando will provide the municipality of Cabanillas del Campo (Guadalajara) with the support and equipment necessary for the employment of a group of mentally handicapped people from the AFAUS association.
Althenia, concessionary of the maintenance of green areas in the municipality, will participate in the integration program and has signed an agreement with the Council for Urban Development, Services and the Environment.
The company will work with the Municipality in providing direct training to personnel, offering the use of its installations such as change rooms, washrooms and showers outfitted for these types of activities.
Through this agreement, Althenia will provide the group of mentally handicapped workers the equipment necessary for various tasks in accordance with their abilities.
The company has participated in activities of this type in the past, including contracting handicapped personnel from the workshops of the Botanical Gardens of Madrid. Currently, Althenia integrates handicapped personnel in providing green area maintenance services in the municipality: which has proven to be a positive experience for all parties.
At the end of 2008, the Sando Group, through the Sando Fundación, reached a partnership agreement with the Adecco Foundation for the professional integration of the handicapped. Within this agreement is Sando’s Family Plan, which is oriented directly to integrating family members of Sando’s employees with physical and mental handicaps.
