Sando presents its 50th Anniversary commemorative book in the framework of a benefit concert by the ELCAMM Wind Symphony Orchestra
Sando’s CEO, Luis Sánchez Manzano, presented the book Sando, 50 years building the future at the Echegaray Theatre in Malaga. A publishing project published on the 50th anniversary of the company’s creation. The event included a benefit concert by the ELCAMM Wind Symphony Orchestra, organised by the Sando Foundation and Malaga City Council.
The presentation was attended by the Mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre Prados; the Regional Minister of Economy, Finance and European Funds of the Andalusian Regional Government, Carolina España Reina, and the President of the Provincial Council of Malaga, Francisco Salado Escaño.
In his first speech, Sando’s CEO highlighted the company’s capacity for compliance and resilience during this period: “Aware of the evolution of our society, we have been committed to quality, innovation and Sustainability, convinced that these must be key elements in the company’s strategy to be more competitive in the new times”.
Francisco Salado then highlighted the relationship between Malaga Provincial Council and the company, giving as an example the Caminito del Rey and the impact Sando’s infrastructure has had on the province: “Our experience with Sando is an example of satisfaction with the work carried out: within a year, with a guarantee, quality and without modifications”.
The Andalusian Regional Minister of Economy, Finance and European Funds also stressed the value of the infrastructures built by the company: “Sando’s works are part of the past, the present and the future. They make us all proud. He highlighted the figure of the founder: “Behind a great businessman, there is usually a great person, and in José Luis, this is true to the letter”.
Finally, Francisco de la Torre ended the first part of the event by highlighting two of Sando’s key strengths: “I would highlight the commitment to innovation and sustainability.”
Benefit concert
Afterwards, the more than forty musicians of the ELCAMM Wind Symphony Orchestra, the Malaga Centro de Arte de Música Moderna (Modern Music Art Centre), gave a Christmas concert under the baton of maestro José Manuel Leal Gómez, organised by the Sando foundation and Malaga City Council.
Their repertoire included songs such as Festival Fanfare for Christmas or Let the Bells Ring, as well as more popular songs, such as Cantando la Navidad, although the performances of the ELCAMM Gospel Choir and the Coro Joven de Málaga (Malaga Youth Choir) were particularly outstanding.
50 años construyendo futuro
The book published by Sando covers the company’s track record over the last five decades from a very personal point of view. Almost a hundred interviews with professionals who have participated in the Sando project during this period describe the main actions, values and projects of the company with their experience.
50 años construyendo futuro (50 years building the future) is the work of journalist and writer Pedro Luis Gómez, who has put his professional experience at the service of the company to compile an overview of Sando’s philosophy.
