The project has been set up by the “Santa María de la Victoria” Diocese Teaching Foundation
At mid-day today, the Bishop of Malaga, Monsignor Catalá, blessed the new José Nadal Educational and Social Centre facilities where the Juan XXIII School in Estepona is located.
During the ceremony, those present were shown round the facilities and the Summer School was officially opened.
The committee, headed by Monsignor Catalá, toured the facilities at the Centre which comprise the Summer School, classrooms and various other rooms for Infants and Juniors, and a commemorative plaque was unveiled. Also attending the event, along with the Bishop of Malaga, was the mayor of Estepona, José María García, the Head of the school, José Rosales, and the Chairman of Sando, José Luis Sánchez Domínguez.
The construction company Sando were responsible for carrying out the first phase of the José Nadal Educational and Social Centre, a project set up by the “Santa María de la Victoria” Diocese Teaching Foundation, and designed by the architect Augusto Tudela. Sando completed works for the Juan XXIII School last year and the Summer School facilities this May.
The José Nadal Educational and Social Centre is a practical, contemporary building designed with teaching in mind. It comprises a number of separate areas which have been built using hard-wearing materials to help absorb any noise. Each area is designed differently taking into account its purpose, whether for academic use or play.
