The University of Malaga is participating with the Sando Fundación in encouraging academic activities of its professional staff, promoting actions which recognise the importance of Sando professionals within the organisation.
Today’s Awards are the first of an annual ceremony initiated in July 2007. Over forty candidatures were presented with high levels of academic achievement, making the decision of the jury especially difficult.
This initiative is at the forefront of the actions of the Sando Fundación: Internal Social Action aimed at the professionals of the Sando organisation and their families, with the goal of improving the professional and personal circumstances of Sando employees.
Another aim of the Foundation is to provide projects and activities for the general public, focussed on technological research and development and addressing social, environmental and cultural issues.
The Sando Fundación was established in 2006 as part of its commitment to society. The Foundation has a global focus, encompassing all geographical regions where the organisation is active. Currently, it represents the principal instrument in Sando’s dedication to corporate social responsibility.
For 2008, the Sando Fundación has approved a program of activities aimed at society as a whole, such as a touring exhibition on the “Vias Verdes” of Spain, a congress on R&D+I and R&D+I awards, the Citizen’s Initiative Award, the National Construction Health and Safety Congress, a series of charity concerts and publications on environmental Sustainability, etc. The Foundation’s other activities include a photography competition for its professionals, as well as a children’s drawing competition, training courses and recreational activities, and the Graduation Awards.
