Located in the town of Los Barrios (Cadiz), it has had an investment of €42 million and will be finished at the end of 2008.
5th of January, 2007.- The Cordoba company Valcruz Gestión S.L., the developer of the “Towers of Hercules”, has awarded the building of this flagship property to Grupo Sando, which will take charge of the construction work through Sando Construcciones.
The project, located in the Cadiz town of Los Barrios, will be an architectural milestone, not only for the Campo de Gibraltar, but also for the whole of Andalusia, since it will be the highest building in the Region.
“The Towers of Hercules” is a project designed by the prestigious architect Rafael de la Hoz. The plan is for two 126-metre high cylindrical towers, with a total floor space of 19,600 square metres. Both towers, with a cutting edge design, are inspired by mythology, being an allegory of the columns of Hercules which appear on the Andalusian flag. They will have 20 floors for offices and other business and service uses, as well as 200 parking spaces. It includes a restaurant designed as an exceptional viewpoint of the Strait of Gibraltar.
This unique building, which Valcruz proposes as the best business property for the Campo de Gibraltar, will be located in the Las Marismas de Palmones Business and Technology Park, managed by the Los Barrios Council and the Zona Franca de Cadiz Consortium. The park is strategically located on a communications node with easy access to the Mediterranean motorway. The aim is to make the most of the logistical and industrial potential of the Bay of Algeciras and the excellent communications with Gibraltar, the Costa del Sol and the airports of Jerez de la Frontera, Seville and Malaga, as well as the closeness of the Port of Algeciras.
The award of this important project to Sando is based, among other important factors, on the experience and technical capacity of the company in all types of construction, as regards civil engineering work and property projects for housing, industrial and service sector use. The period required for carrying out the project is estimated as close to 24 months. Environmental criteria will be kept in mind for construction. For this, the building itself will be given bioclimatic panels to capture the energy to be used by the offices.
The project will be the main action carried out by Valcruz up to now, with an investment of €42 million. The operation is financed by Cajasur.
