Innovation projects and constructive solutions

activating innovation

We carry out innovation projects with the implementation of innovative construction solutions.

Innovation is one of our growth levers that allows us to apply sustainable and efficient construction solutions to meet the needs of our customers.

Implementing our innovative construction projects contributes to the continuous transformation of the construction and maintenance of buildings and transport infrastructure.

Sando employs new working methodologies and construction solutions in the construction sector, such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Lean Construction. Both are defined within a collaborative innovation project that transforms the design, construction, and management processes of projects and works, evolving towards smart, efficient, and sustainable construction execution.

BIM and Lean Construction integrate all the agents involved in the project and establish a transversal communication flow between them Specifically, BIM generates a virtual model of the project that contains all the project information, is updated with characteristics and information on materials, installations, equipment, etc., and helps detect early problems in the project. .

At Sando, we have developed the REBECCA project, a research project to create a system of rules and biocomputational algorithms for controlling and monitoring construction projects. Through this project, we have created an intelligent system for automatically applying the BIM methodology in construction.

Through Lean Construction, it is possible to guarantee compliance with on-site deadlines, making continuous improvements and eliminating restrictions using the Last Planner System (LPS) methodology, which consists of collaboratively carrying out detailed planning with all those involved in the project.

This is a study and experimental development of alternatives for ground containment in problematic geological environments due to the presence of clayey materials or water.

Saliemelav

Saliemelav

This technological innovation has been designed to construct vertical tunnels of great depth and diameter next to railway tunnels in service located under urban centres. It was created while building three new emergency exits for the Sants-La Sagrera high-speed tunnel in the city centre of Barcelona. Using this auscultation system helps minimise the occurrence of conditions, as it provides real-time readings.

Prorehesla

Prorehesla

This new technological process is applied to rehabilitating buildings and constructions of historical and heritage interest through laser scanning and BIM (Building Information Modelling) tools. A point cloud represents the data obtained and then transformed into a 3D model. All this information is processed through the BIM collaborative working methodology, which allows Sando to study the actual conditions of its surroundings and enables it to conserve historical and archaeological heritage more accurately.
