“Ciudad Amable” El Puerto de Santa María
Implementation project “Ciudad Amable” El Puerto de Santa María. Friendly route between the wine cellar area and the pedestrian zone in the historic centre
Description: This “Ciudad Amable” El Puerto de Santa María project is based on the regeneration of the urban space within the historic centre of El Puerto de Santa María, in the southern area, bordering the Guadalete River and the main heritage elements of the municipality (Castillo de San Marcos, Casa de las Cadenas, bodegas or municipal buildings). The aim is to create a “friendly itinerary”, an extension of the already existing one in the historic centre of the port, which connects via Misericordia Street with the Polvorista Square and from there with the nearby Guadalete riverbank via Los Moros Street.
The objective of “Ciudad Amable” El Puerto de Santa María is to promote pedestrian mobility, accessibility, improvements in safety and habitability, increase biodiversity, and, in general, improve the quality of the urban landscape in the town of El Puerto de Santa María in Cádiz.
