The extension works of the Plaza Mayor Shopping Centre are located in the western expansion area of Malaga, on the Costa del Sol.

The works carried out by Sando include the partial demolition of the existing façade in the shopping area, known as Shopping, and the extension of the basement and the commercial floor. This last action was carried out by constructing a new reinforced concrete structure and the building’s enclosure and roofs.

The refurbishment of the Plaza Mayor Shopping Centre comprised two distinct locations. The first location was at the south-eastern end, on the commercial floor, where extension work was carried out on the floor area, affecting three of the premises. The second location was in the central portion of the east side, where, in addition to modifying the space of three premises, a new one was built. In addition, underneath the redeveloped areas, Sando made new warehouses.

Other works in the Plaza Mayor Shopping Centre

Sando has also carried out other actions in the Plaza Mayor Shopping Centre, including demolishing existing buildings, reinforcing structures, constructing new buildings, and refurbishing and redistributing other spaces

One of these works consisted of the project “Demolitions and Structural Reinforcements Reform of the Plaza del Azahar”, consisting of the specific remodelling of one of the shopping centre areas: the Calle de La Redonda and the Plaza Azahar. The activity of the shopping centre continues in other areas, so these works are carried out in a coordinated manner.
