Hospital Virgen de la Victoria
Hospital Virgen de la Victoria
Sando Construcción is refurbishing and extending the Onco-Hematology Day Hospital at the Virgen de la Victoria Hospital in Malaga, with the aim of doubling the medical care capacity for oncology patients.
The execution of the work aims to provide the hospital with a larger space adapted to the number of patients it attends. The creation of the new space allows the former IBIMA laboratory and the medical dormitories to be unified in the same area, thus enlarging the areas from 625m² to 1,351m².
The project for the new day hospital and onco-haematology consultation room arose from the need to have a larger space adapted to the needs of patients treated in the oncology unit, promoting comfort during their stay and facilitating the work carried out by professionals in their daily work.
It is planned to triple the number of chairs and beds for patients in need of isolation. The number of oncology consultations will also be increased from nine to sixteen, and the waiting area for patients and their families will be tripled and will be equipped with 311m².
This project is part of Sando Construcción’s specialised line of healthcare buildings, which includes construction, equipment and healthcare and hospital services.
This area has extensive experience with the execution of other projects such as the construction of a footbridge connecting the four hospitals that make up the campus of the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital; the extension of the Hospital centre in Estepona, the construction of the new laboratories of the Carlos III Health Institute in Madrid; the remodelling works at the Puerta del Mar University Hospital in Cadiz; the Tajo Hospital in Aranjuez, the refurbishment of the operating theatres in the children’s hospital belonging to the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital, the extension works at the Quirón Hospital in Malaga, among others.
