Hospiten of Estepona
Extension and refurbishment of the Hospiten Hospital in Estepona
The Hospiten Estepona project consists of extending and refurbishing this hospital to increase its healthcare capacity and improve its facilities to make it a reference point for private medical care.
The work comprises some 3,700 square metres of intervention, which is being carried out in three main actions: the extension to the north of the central block; the creation of a new northwest wing, similar to the existing one in the southwest wing reaching three floors, and the extension to the north of the current emergency block, located to the east of the building. As well as renovations in technical rooms and the mortuary.
The first two actions at Hospiten in Estepona reach the ground floor level and the two upper floors. At the same time, the third intervention affects the ground floor and the lower floor. The façade is extended, in this last action, to the first-floor level to give a unified image to the extension, carrying out regularisation work on the heterogeneous elements of the roof of the emergency area, such as the lift mast and the roofs that protect the evacuation routes.
Outside, to the north of the emergency block, a series of stepped terraces connect the ground floor level with a new courtyard to illuminate the rooms below ground level. This connects the courtyard previously arranged next to the entrance to the outpatient department.
Due to the complexity of the Hospiten de Estepona project, the BIM methodology has been implemented, modelling the project in the 3 disciplines (Architecture, Structures and Installations), detecting the interferences inherent to the extension and refurbishment works to anticipate them and start working with an optimised start-up model
