Isla Chica Health Centre
New primary care centre in the Isla Chica neighbourhood of Huelva
The work on the Isla Chica Health Centre consists of constructing the health centre to provide services to the citizens of the Isla Chica neighbourhood in Huelva. The new facilities occupy a total surface area of 2,566 square metres on a plot of 6,004 square metres, ceded by the Huelva City Council.
The building has been constructed to serve an estimated population of 18,000 people, to improve the quality of care provided to users residing in the neighbourhood where it is located, one of the most densely populated in the capital of Huelva, and optimising the work of professionals by optimising their workplace. To this end, the Isla Chica Health Centre has been structured into various spaces designed to achieve maximum optimisation and operability. The facilities include an emergency department, twenty family and two multipurpose consulting rooms, five paediatric consulting rooms, a breastfeeding room, a consultation room, a minor surgery room and a dentistry office.
Executing these works at the Isla Chica Health Centre is being carried out in Sando’s specialised division in constructing and equipping healthcare infrastructures and managing services complementary to hospital activity This division results from a long history of executing significant projects in the healthcare sector, which has allowed Sando to legitimise its activities in this area thanks to the talent of its specialised technical professionals.
The work was the winner of the XXIX Architecture Prize 2022 of the Official College of Architects of Huelva.
