Modernisation of the Torre del Águila reservoir
Project for the clean and sustainable use of energy and optimisation of the water resources of the Lower Guadalquivir Canal-Torre del Águila reservoir interconnection.
The Torre del Águila reservoir modernisation project aims to reduce the energy consumption of the lift from the Lower Guadalquivir Canal to the Torre del Águila reservoir. To this end, improvements are being made to the aeration of the canal-dam interconnection, the cut-off elements of the canal-dam interconnection, the reduction of seepage in the upstream face, or the implementation of a load-break system in the canal. 18,518.85 m3 were excavated, and 29,737.57 m3 were backfilled to modernise the Torre del Águila reservoir.
