Multifunctional building of the Port of Huelva
works relating to the multifunctional building project on the south quay and surrounding areas.
The work on the new multifunctional building of the Port of Huelva includes the construction of facilities of more than 2,800 square metres with a marked open-plan and flexible character.
The passenger terminal has been designed to respond to a functional, flexible, expandable and durable character for the Port Authority of Huelva while establishing a dialogue with the nautical forms through a curved geometry.
The building is divided into two sections; the first is on the ground floor and is intended for the public, with the necessary controls, check-in and equipment. On the second side, the functional area will be located on two floors, with offices for the administration of the building, the Port Authority, the shipping, freight forwarding and consignment companies, the Civil Guard, meeting rooms, etc.
Among the actions to be carried out is a first phase in which earthworks and foundations are being made, with the demolition of some old warehouses on the plot. The structure of the building also uses metal frames, solid concrete slab floors and lightweight thermo-clay block walls.
