Contracting authority: Radio Televisión Española (RTVE)
The project for the new regional centre of Radio Televisión Española (RTVE) in Castilla y León aims to unify the headquarters of Radio Nacional de España in Valladolid and Televisión Española in Laguna de Duero. This will solve the problems of obsolescence of the latter’s facilities and achieve a cost-optimised building that improves operability.
The project consists of the construction of a new two-storey building of 1,800 square metres, built on a plot of 4,072 square metres, already urbanised and located in the urban centre of the city of Valladolid.
The building will have an outdoor covered car park, a television set of about 150 square metres, three radio control-location units, one of which will capture images for television, two video editing booths and two voice-over booths.
On the ground floor of the building, surface foundation works will be carried out on cyclopean concrete shafts, the execution of a concrete structure with hollow core slabs and a double skin façade. Likewise, an inner skin of masonry façade, sate insulation, aluminium joinery and an outer skin with micro-perforated sheet metal will be built. In the interior distribution, specific office partitions for the corporation and technical flooring will be installed.
A sustainable certified building. With the aim of integrating sustainability in building, new construction adopts measures in line with the VERDE Certification (Reference Efficiency Rating for Buildings), issued by the Spanish Council for Sustainable Building.
These measures include the installation of energy-efficient air-conditioning, using a VRV system and a primary air conditioner associated with aerothermal energy. In addition, the rest of the installations also integrate solutions aimed at the certification of the 5 green leaves applied in the transformation centre, low voltage, lighting, fire prevention, BMS, telecommunications and a photovoltaic park.
With the execution of this project, Sando is deploying its expertise in energy and sustainable building solutions, providing RTVE with a new space in Valladolid with renovated and environmentally responsible facilities.
