Within the framework of the renovation project for the implementation of tourist flats, several works are being carried out to renovate buildings dating from the beginning of the 20th century to be used for tourist purposes. The renovation creates 13 flats on a surface area of 715.08 m2t.
One of these flats is located at Calle Ronda Capuchinos 38 in Seville. It consists of a building between party walls, aligned with a road in front, and with a large courtyard or free space at the back of the plot It consists of a ground floor, first floor and attic floor set back from the façade, with an ample open space at the rear.
The building to be refurbished dates back to 1937, when it was built as the Vázquez Elena Clinic The building is one of the few examples of non-residential rationalist architecture in the historic centre of Seville and one of the most representative examples of Sevillian architecture of the 1930s.
It is also one of the different types of care architecture that characterise the landscape of the Ronda Norte, together with the industrial buildings in the city’s expansion from the mid-19th century onwards, especially in the first half of the 20th century. They are being carried out on a building dating from 1900, which underwent a complete renovation in 1980. The building has a grade 2 partial protection status, and the façade and the first bay must be preserved.
