Seville Metro
Execution of the works for extending the light rail infrastructure and superstructure on the San Bernardo – Nervión Centre section.
The civil works for the Seville Metro to Nervión include extending the Metro Ligero line to connect the San Bernardo station in Avda. Ramón y Cajal, to a new stop to be built in Nervión Centro in Avda. Luis de Morales.
The total length of the project is 1.4 kilometres and includes three stops in San Francisco Javier, Eduardo Dato and the Nervión Shopping Centre, and two exits The project involves the underground crossing between Ramón y Cajal and San Francisco Javier streets.
To carry out these actions, Sando installed a ballastless track system based on Ri60N rail with elastic rubber-based jacketed track with different surface finishes. For the structure of the access ramps and the subway, 800-centimetre diameter pile walls and retaining walls are used in the shallower areas The subway has a clear width of 7.80 metres and a variable height of 5 metres.
In addition, Sando is building a pumping well at the low point of the subway to evacuate runoff water that converges on the ramps and an irrigation system to maintain the grassed areas of the platform.
In constructing a reserved platform that runs along the current median, with a width of 7.20 metres, roundabouts resolve the junction with Avenida Eduardo Dato and Luis Montoto to allow maximum movement.
Likewise, work is being carried out on Avenida San Francisco Javier through a subway to avoid traffic interference.
This project, part of Seville’s Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, aims to provide the city with a transport connection capable of linking the areas of San Bernardo and the Nervión Centre in just three minutes and forty seconds.
