Water supply from Portaje reservoir
Improved supply to Cáceres from the Portaje reservoir.
This project aims to improve the Portaje reservoir’s supply to guarantee drinking water to Cáceres and thirteen surrounding municipalities. This is done by installing a pipeline that recharges the Guadiloba Reservoir from the Portaje Reservoir and the Alagón Canal. The total length of the project to improve the supply from the Portaje reservoir is 72 km, and its diameter is 1,100 mm for a design flow of 1,500 litres per second. 700,300 m2 of earth are excavated, and 337,709 m3 are used to cover and compact trenches.
