Purification is cleaning wastewater from materials, biological residues, metals and chemicals. Treating wastewater from domestic and industrial uses treats and removes pollutants before it is returned to a receiving watercourse or reused for industrial or irrigation purposes.
Precisely, wastewater treatment consists of the removal of suspended solids and materials in wastewater, the removal of dissolved chemical and biological pollutants in wastewater and eventually, the removal of nutrients such as nitrogen and/or phosphorus that cause water eutrophication, leading to uncontrolled proliferation of phytoplanktonic algae.
This sanitation and purification treatment is carried out in several stages in wastewater treatment plants. In the water line, they stand out:
Among the actions carried out, it is worth highlighting the work at the Peñón del Cuervo WWTP and the Rincón de la Victoria WWTP to direct regenerated water to agricultural estates. Both connections increase farm water resources and add up to 9.1 cubic hectometres of reclaimed water for irrigation in La Axarquía.
As well as the design and construction of the Malaga Norte WWTP, the largest wastewater treatment plant in Malaga, and the Don Benito y Villafranca, Tajuña, Estepona and Ecija WWTPs, among many others. From the point of view of the maintenance and operation of WWTPs, for example, the El Copero WWTP, the largest in Seville, and the Ranilla WWTP in the same province have been preserved.

We close the circle of water management by using techniques and technology to clean wastewater and reintroduce it into the cycle to be used again.
At Sando Agua, we perform sanitation actions to eliminate both suspended and chemical or biological materials in wastewater. To do this, we use specialised techniques that make it possible to obtain water that can be reused in other processes and to protect ecosystems from harmful elements present in the water that can cause negative impacts on species.
