We want to provide solutions to major global challenges
SDGs – Sustainable development goals
Faced with significant global challenges such as the energy transition, resource scarcity and social gaps, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set out the roadmap for coordinated action between the various actors in society until 2030.
Given the nature of our business, we have aligned our strategy to the contribution of the 2030 Agenda, considering the contribution to seven SDGs as a priority and critical.
The incorporation of these SDGs in the performance of our activity allows us to integrate principles of circular economy (SDG 12), decarbonisation (SDG 13), responsible use of resources (SDGs 9, 6, 11) or protection of biodiversity (SDG 15) in our business structure; and adding value to the proposals in the works and services projects.
In line with our commitment to the fight against climate change (SDG 13), we have registered our footprint in the Registry of Carbon Footprint, offsetting and CO2 absorption projects of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge. This certification covers our activities in the construction of projects such as roads and motorways, urban rail transport lines, urban development, building and wastewater treatment plants.
We are also committed to the implementation of measures that contribute to other Sustainable Development Goals through actions such as the promotion of internal Equality Policies (SDG 5), the highest standards of health and safety for our team (SDG 3) and support through the Sando Fundación for activities that promote the social and economic inclusion of vulnerable people (SDG 10).
In the quest to create social value, Sando participates in the community through social, cultural, sporting and academic actions and sectoral information work. To this end, through its brands and the Sando Fundación, it collaborates with various social entities, disseminating information and participating in activities that contribute to the inclusion of people and groups in vulnerable situations: helping to eradicate hunger (SDG 2) and poverty (SDG 1), reducing inequalities (SDG 10), education (SDG 4) and promoting culture and responsibility for the climate (SDG 11).
